BookTok’s Most Anticipated New Reads for 2023!

Happy New Year everyone!! I wish you all the best reads, perfect spines, and no bookish slumps.

With the new year comes some new reads (: Personally I have a long list of books I am looking forward to. But here are ten of the ones Booktok seems the most hype for. After going through them I will tell you guys some extras I am really anticipating!

Ali Hazelwood’s Love Theoretically (June 13th)

Tiktok sensation The Love Hypothesis author Ali Hazelwood is releasing another book in her STEMinist world. Where some of her fans are wanting her to change it up, other’s love the uniqueness of the fields Hazelwood represents in her books! Fan or not the hashtag #LoveTheoretically already has 3.5M views! And the book does not come out till summer!

Ana Huang’s King of Pride (April 27th)

Ana Huang has her first release in April 2021, ever since then Booktok has just eaten her up. Mostly everyone agrees she has the perfect amount of angst and some really good spice! Her Kings of Sin series is not as iconic as the Twisted series, but we all still eat it up anyway!

Lauren Asher’s Final Offer (January 31st)

Tikok goes hard for a Lauren Asher book. Her Dirty Air series was super popular and then her Dreamland Billionaire’s series took off too. Final Offer is the third and final book of her Dreamland Billionaire series. It follows the final Kane brother, Cal, and Lana Castillo— his childhood best friend. Dreamland fans have been waiting a longgg time for this one. What will Asher write next after this series!

Emily Henry’s Happy Place (February 21st)

As most of you probably know by now, everyone goes crazy for some Emily Henry. People always love her stuff, she is an instant buy for many. It has a fun premise where “a couple who broke up months ago make a pact to pretend to still be together for their annual weeklong vacation with their best friends”.

Tessa Bailey’s Secretly Yours (February 1st)

One thing about Tessa Bailey  is that you always know someone is gonna be talking about her new release! Personally, I cannot get Secretly Yours off my FYP and it is driving me crazyyyyy!!! I want to read it so fricken bad and it’s like everyone and their mom got an ARC for this book. I am BEYOND jealous. So if everyone could stop rubbing it in my face, thanks. |: I don’t think it will ever leave my FYP though. The hashtag #SecretlyYours already has 900K views. Her last book didn’t hit that much until after release.

Lynn Painter’s Love Wager (March 14th)

Love Wager is set to continue in the Mr. Wrong Number universe! Mr. Wrong Number did really well on Tiktok, so it should be no surprise to see Love Wager on everyone’s TBR. The cover was revealed over the summer, so some spark has died, but when it was revealed people were crazy about it.

Lucy Score’s Things We Hide From The Light (April 25th)

Things We Hide From The Light is Lucy Score’s follow up to Things We Never Got Over, which blew up last summer on TikTok. This next one follows the character Nash from the first book. I have been seeing this on EVERYONE’s Booktok TBR. Though I do not plan to read this book, fun fact it actually comes out on my birthday! How funny (:

Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake (May 2nd)

In a sequel to Every Summer After, Carley Fortune has a new book coming out this spring called Meet Me at the Lake. Everyone seemed to either love or hate the first one. My feelings aren’t relevant here, but it is safe to say the lovers will be going crazy on May 2nd. Fans seemed disappointed when they found out this was not Charlie’s book, but still the book has a whopping 300K views on TikTok.

Elsie Silver’s Powerless (February 10th)

To be frank, I am not at all familiar with Elsie Silver’s Chestnut Springs series. I had to Google it right now to know the name of the series. BUT even with my cluelessness even I have seen this book takeover my FYP. And it is so memorable so I get why. Anywhore, Powerless comes out February 2nd and it’s the third in a popular series.

Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ The Brothers Hawthorne (August 29th)

Okay, this is obviously a change of the tone from the other books mentioned. It’s not smut or a RomCom. But how can I make this blog post without mentioning at least one book from the YA genre. Booktok has a big portion of Fantasy and YA readers, where I might not be one of them, even I have read The Inheritance Games series. AND as someone who was Team Grayson, I need this.

My Extra Picks for 2023!

Though I do love some of these books on the list (yeah not all though yikes), my top ten anticipated would be a little different. So here are five more books that I am very much looking forward to!

Um, HELLO?? Where is the Meghan Quinn?? I need to read Royally In Trouble by Meghan Quinn coming out June 6th, RIGHT NOW.

And uhh where is the diversity on this list? I read the description of ClickMate by Tia Kelly and went absolutely crazy. Such a good concept! My Kindle Unlimited says it will be available on January 24th. I can’t wait!!

Rachel Lynn Solomon has been having some really good releases lately. And I love the Jewish representation they have. Her new book Business or Pleasure comes out June 20th.

Also, forever a Claire Kingsley stan! Her book Cocky Roommate got me into reading Romance!! Well her new book Flirting With Forever, the final book in her Dirty Martini Running Club series comes out this March! The specific day is not out yet though.

Hmm one more. Okay another book I can’t wait for release is Sarah Adam’s Practice Makes Perfect on May 2nd! Just look how cute and sweet the cover is! Just like her books (:

Anywhore, I hope y’all enjoyed reading this and it wasn’t too boring of a first blog post haha.
